Three Young Writers Launched Book “Adventure Time”

                There was an interesting event that was held by IWEC in Bank Indonesia library on January 24^th 2016. IWEC is short for Indonesia Writing Edu Center or Linguistic school in Surabaya. The event was a book launching event entitled Adventure Time. The book is an anthology which is written by three child authors. They are Imey,Lunetta and Haidar; the only boy in the class. They have expressed their ideas, feelings and imagination in this book.

The event began a speech from Mrs. Maylia Erna Sutanto as the owner of IWEC. She found IWEC to increase children’s interest in writing. Not only she delivered her speech but she also read a beautiful poem that was written by her entitled Perempuan. Her beautiful voice jolted Surabaya at that time. Mrs. Maylia or usually called by her students with bunda May succeeded reading poem using amazing facial expressions. Next, was arrival of the author of ‘Surabaya Punya Cerita’. He told everyone about the history of Bank Indonesia library.

The performance not only from bunda May but from IWEC students as well. They are not only great in writing but they have other talents such as reading a poem, singing and playing instrument. Despite the rain that showered over Surabaya, their spirit did not fade because of their parents’ endless support.

The top part of this event is of course the talk show with the authors of Adventure Time accompanied by Kak Riska who is their writing teacher. The three authors wrote their story by interest. Lunetta or Luna wrote a story about dolphins and she said that she was inspired by the movie Finding Nemo. Mairin or Imey wrote about a terrifying sorceress. The last author and the only boy in the class is Haidar, he is a gamer. Because of it, he wrote a story about his favorite game Mine craft. TVRI and Jawa Pos covered this event too. We can all see that the writing world is very interesting and that the society must be more aware of writing.
